Dare to add more slides! 🤯
"Why would I do that?"
"For this executive presentation, you can have only three slides."
I have heard and seen this horrible strategy so many times, and I don't know who came up with it, but I do know that it just doesn't make sense.
How do you brief an executive with a professional presentation with a lot of information in a short amount of time with only three slides?
In most cases, the executive looks at slides full of text, logos, and information.
As a result, they have no idea what to look at first, even if you animate your slides. ❌
They have no idea what's the most important data on the slides. ❌
And most of all, they have no idea what the main message is. ❌
I challenge everyone who has to deliver a presentation to the board, the chairman, or an executive to reduce the content on the slides! 💪🏽
Focus on what's more important and use five, maybe even 10 slides in a few moments that support your spoken word rather than distract from it. 👈🏽
And if your executive wants to see more details, graphs, facts, and figures, have them ready in the appendix so you can always show them if somebody asks. ✅
Try this technique, and I can tell you one thing - if you dare to stand against a corporate culture and stand against a bad industry practice, you can only win. 💯
