Even as a professional speaker and presenter on international stages, I still sometimes get upset when I trip over a word ❗️
Here's the truth: Public Speaking Mistakes are part of the journey! 💯
And I have noticed many times that NOBODY in the audience cares or picks up on a little error. They care about your content, your energy and your delivery, and they have no problem with you being a human on stage – because you are!
Mistakes happen to everybody, and rather than being mad at yourself, embrace those moments, correct yourself, laugh it off if it's funny and continue! 💪🏽
No need to apologize or, worse, get upset with yourself.
And guess what, it's not just me!
Recently, in Germany, I had the privilege of witnessing a presenter in action with over 30 years of experience, and even a seasoned presenter like him stumbled over a word – in a pretty important segment.
Did he throw a tantrum? Nope. ❎
Did he get irritated? Yes. ✅
👉🏽 However, thanks to his experience, he turned it into a funny moment and continued with style.
Don't strive for perfection. Prepare thoroughly and practice relentlessly. After that, it is time to let your authentic personality shine, and if you make a mistake, don't beat yourself about it ✨
